Colonial Babies with Goody Grimes

infants to 3½ years

In 2009, Ipswich, MA celebrated its 375th birthday. To commemorate this occasion, Sharon developed a new program of rhymes, riddles and songs which might have been used by the early settlers. These were popular or well known in Britain in the 1600s or early 1700s and some of them originated in the colonies.

As Goody (Goodwife) Grimes, Sharon dresses in Colonial clothing and leads the class in traditional activities and provides historical information about life for parents and children during the period. Even older siblings will enjoy participating in this program.

Colonial Babies is available as a special program for museums, schools, and libraries.
